Webinar: Research Noncompliance and Integrity Violations: Understanding Causes and Implementing Prac

When:  Dec 1, 2022 from 01:00 PM to 02:15 PM (ET)
Occasional instances of noncompliance or misconduct, or other research integrity violations, can occur in any research setting. Identification of the factors leading to these events can help direct resources to their prevention, both before they ever happen and as part of the remediation process following an integrity violation.

In this webinar, we present original research and showcase two evidence-informed professional development training programs. First, we report findings from an interview and survey study of institutional officials on what contributes to cases of serious and continuing research noncompliance and integrity violations. We also report on how institutions approach resolving and preventing these cases using action plans. We then describe a coaching program aimed at remediating root causes of noncompliance and integrity violations among researchers whom institutions aim to retain. Finally, we share a new training and mentoring program aimed at supporting early-career investigators in adopting best practices to foster rigorous and responsible research.
