Virtual Roundtable: Regulatory Flexibility with NACHRP

When:  Apr 16, 2026 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)

In this roundtable, the National Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (NACHRP) will lead a discussion about regulatory flexibility when “unchecking the box”. Many institutions have underutilized regulatory flexibility, leading to increased workload and unnecessary “regulatory” burden. Participants will be introduced to concepts supporting regulatory flexibility, self-reflect on navigating institutional culture, and how to apply sound reasoning to strengthen participant protections while improving operational efficiency. This session is designed for IRB professionals, HRPP leaders, investigators, and compliance staff seeking a clearer, more confident understanding of how to apply regulatory flexibility. The roundtable will begin with a brief overview on what regulatory flexibility means with the remainder of the session will include a short guided discussion and open dialogue to allow for attendees to share their concerns and questions.

Virtual Roundtables are free for members as an exclusive benefit.
